26 Days of Thanksgiving
I am thankful that I get to go out with the girls ALL DAY tomorrow. For a twilight movie marathon and finish the evening off with seeing Breaking Dawn ofcourse. Mostly I'm REALLY excited about the girl-time :-) I am even MORE thankful for my mother who will be spending the day with my kiddo's so that I can go "play".

26 Days of Thanksgiving
I am thankful for Jose's employer. They were an answer to our prayers. The hours may be long/crazy, but for once Jose really enjoys what he does, and who he's working for/with, and that makes all the difference.

26 Days of Thanksgiving
I am thankful for my sassy, fun, outragous, athletic, cheerful, loving, good-hearted, smart, independent, helpful, stubborn, creative, emotional, unique, forgiving daughter....Shyla. She changed my life forever. My first baby to call me mom. We have MANY more "firsts" to get through together ;-) I am so lucky to have such a sweet spirited little girl. I can't wait to see/meet the woman she will become.

26 Days of Thanksgiving
I am thankful for good books. Yes, I said books :-) Since there isn't much room in the budget for Retail-Therapy, I've found books to be my favorite "happy-place". A way for me to "get-away" for a little while without ever stepping foot out the door :-)

26 Days of Thanksgiving
I am thankful for this country. I am thankful for the men and women who make/have made sacrifices to protect this country. And I am thankful to my Heavenly Father who continues to watch over and bless this country.

26 Days of Thanksgiving
Today I am thankful for my bed. I am very thankful to live in a time, place, circumstance to be able to enjoy such lovely things as a mattress and box springs. :-)
Not for THIS white girl!
You know you can't dance when... the sweet little white lady in the back of class puts here arm around you and says, "Don't worry honey, we'll get this!"....As you stumble through your first ever ZUMBA class....SOOooooo Humiliating!! :-)

26 Days of Thanksgiving
Today I am thankful for my hard working husband. He works long, crazy hours so that I am able to be home with our children. Still somehow, he is able to come home and be a fun, helpful, involved daddy. I love him!

26 Days of Thanksgiving
It's Novemeber so, I thought I'd take on the challenge of posting something that I was thankful for each day of this month.
Today I am thankful for a gas stove....I hope I never have to go back to electic... I <3 it. Seriously tho, I really am thankful for my stove, preparing every meal around a campfire would be ALOT more challenging....

A new direction
So, the idea has been festering in my mind.... Everyday (well, maybe not everyday) I find myself posting about my life to FB. My joys, my challenges, my vent sessions, etc. Which is really great except, on FB once they are said, eventually they are gone. And though they are entertaining at the time or while in the moment...it's only a moment, and once the moment is past, it is gone. Moral of the story, if I ever want to remember the "moments" or have anyone else have the oppotunity to remember the moments....I need to write them here. Somewhere where it can always be and perhaps even someday printed out etc.
I give NO promises of being gramatically correct or even entertaining for that matter. But from now on, I intend on posting my thoughts and happenings here. And if I have time for FB then great, if I don't EVEN BETTER! So here's to a NEW DIRECTION...

Time really does fly
On Monday of this week I dropped Shyla off at her first day of preschool. Now, of course it's only 3days a week, 2hrs a day, but when it's your little girl....you can't help but think how fast this is all happening. How "big" she is. How much she's grown up right in front of your eyes, everyday, and you don't realize it.
Until one day you look at her, and you say....
Mom, "Want me to help you with your bag?"
Reply, "No mom, I got it."
Mom, "Hold my hand, I'll walk you up to your class."
Reply, "That's ok mom. I'm good. You can just stand here and watch me."
WHAT?!?!? I could have sworn it was my 4yr old I was taking to preschool not a teenager!!! Seriously, she is soo independent. She reminds me soo much of myself. She's become a really big helper, and she loves to play and take care of her brothers. She is such an fun, outgoing, and sweet girl and I'm so lucky to be her mother. I have learned soo much from her and she continues to keep me on my toes everyday.
I love you Shyla Marie!! My sweet baby girl!
